My
name is Eliza Lambert, and I am a sophomore at Gallatin School of
Individualized Study within New York University, majoring in Oral
History with a minor in Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology.
I began oral history work in 2011 when I worked with Habitat for
Humanity on a digital short in Almost Heaven, West Virginia. But it
wasn’t until I took Jacqueline Bishop’s oral history course at NYU that I
committed to this medium. Since, I’ve worked both independently and
with museums on a variety of projects varying from documenting Maine’s
Jewish community to a one-interview portrait of rural poverty. In
addition, I have supported her oral history work with diversity training
that ranges from Maine Seeds of Peace to NYU’s Intergroup Dialogue
Program. I write poetry, draw, and have experience in many leadership
positions of theater management. I am passionate about the arts, music,
travel, social equality, and honing the skill of listening. I believe,
especially in our age of media, that oral history will be one of the
most effect forms of communicating current events and social trends.
